Mercedes Ignition Switch (EIS/EZS) Testing & Repair Service

At MotorTronics, we have developed advanced testing and repair procedures that allow us to diagnose and repair a wide range of Mercedes-Benz ignition switch faults.

Using our custom-designed test equipment, we can accurately simulate real vehicle operating conditions and reproduce fault symptoms outside of the vehicle. This enables us to identify the root cause of the failure and carry out a reliable repair, restoring the original ignition switch wherever possible.

Repairing your existing ignition switch is often a far more cost-effective solution than replacing it. It eliminates the need for expensive replacement units, coding, programming, and dealer-level adaptation procedures.

Common Mercedes Ignition Switch Faults

If your vehicle is experiencing any of the following symptoms, we may be able to help:

  • Key will not turn in the ignition (very common)
  • Key turns, but there are no ignition lights or dashboard response
  • Vehicle will not start
  • Electronic steering lock does not release when the key is inserted
  • Key turns in the ignition, but the engine will not crank
  • Intermittent starting faults
  • Vehicle starts only when hot or cold
  • Random ignition system failures
  • No communication with the ignition switch module

How the Service Works

Simply remove the ignition switch from your vehicle and send it to MotorTronics for testing. Every unit is thoroughly tested before any repair work is carried out to confirm the fault and ensure that repair is the most appropriate solution.

Once diagnosed, we will carry out the necessary repairs and fully test the unit before returning it to you.

Important Information

Please do not attempt to open or repair the ignition switch yourself. Many Mercedes ignition switch failures are caused by internal electronic or software-related issues that are not immediately visible. Unauthorised repair attempts can cause additional damage and may reduce the chances of a successful repair.

If you are unsure whether your ignition switch is faulty, contact our team and we will be happy to advise.
