How Our Key Programming Service Works

Having your key programmed by MotorTronics can save you hundreds of pounds compared to dealer prices, as well as avoiding lengthy delays while waiting for keys to be ordered from the manufacturer.

Using specialist equipment and advanced programming techniques, we are able to produce and program keys directly to your vehicle’s immobiliser system. This means there is normally no need for additional dealer-level security coding or programming once your parts are returned.

Simply reinstall the supplied components and, in most cases, your vehicle will be ready to start and operate as normal.

What You Need To Do

1. Purchase the Service
Click Add to Basket and complete the checkout process.

2. Complete the Repair Form
The Repair Form will be available immediately after checkout and will also be sent to your email address.

3. Package and Send the Following Items

  • Immobiliser Unit / BCM (Body Control Module)
  • Door, Boot or Ignition Lock Barrel (if key cutting is required)
  • Alternatively, a spare key can be supplied for key blade cutting
  • A copy of the completed Repair Form

4. Programming & Testing
Upon receipt, we will carry out all necessary programming, key preparation and testing procedures to ensure compatibility with your vehicle system.

5. Return & Installation
Your programmed module(s) and key(s) will be returned ready for installation.

Important Information

In most cases, the programmed module will be supplied as a plug-and-play solution. However, some vehicles may require diagnostic equipment to clear fault codes, perform adaptations, synchronise modules, or complete vehicle configuration procedures following installation.

MotorTronics offers a specialist postal key programming and key cutting service for selected Land Rover and Range Rover vehicles. This service is ideal when all keys have been lost, a spare key is required, or access to a local auto locksmith is limited.

Using advanced programming equipment, we can prepare a replacement key to work with your vehicle by programming it directly to the immobiliser system. Once completed, all components are securely returned to you ready for refitting.

Please note: This service is for non-keyless vehicles only.

How the Service Works

To carry out this service, you will need to remove and send us:

  1. The vehicle’s BCM / Immobiliser Module (located behind the glovebox)
  2. One of the vehicle’s door lock barrels

Once received, we will:

  • Cut a replacement key blade to match your vehicle
  • Program the key to your immobiliser system
  • Test the key data
  • Return all components securely by post
