Description
This repair service covers the test and possible repair of your airbag module. These modules have three common failures:
- Water Ingress
- Due to their location water can run down along the wiring and cause water to accumulate on the connector. In most cases, we should be able to repair the heavily corroded pins by replacing them with new replacement pins.
- Data Corruption
- Due to these modules being very sensitive to voltage, a simple jump start can cause the module to fail, and cause the data internally to cause an airbag light.
- Crash Data
- Stored data relating to a crash that does not clear after airbags have been replaced.
This is due to the manufacturer implementing code in these modules which store crash data. Afterwards, they would need to be replaced, which can be very costly.
We are able to restore these units to fully working condition, by resetting / clearing this crash data back to its working condition.
Your airbag light may be on due to other reasons. So regardless of what it is, you should always scan your system using an OBD airbag scanner to read and obtain the codes, before sending your airbag module to us.
Our specialised equipment allows us to fully recover the original data and restore it back to its original working condition.
