Jaguar XF Central Junction Box Water Damage Repair Service FCJB BCM

Due to the design, wear and tear on components, water ingress occurs in the Central Junction Box which causes multiple warning lights to illuminate on the Instrument Cluster.

The cause of this is by fluid ingress through the front end of the wiring harness and washer pump, which causes the water to trace back in the loom, contaminating the CJB and rotting the plug pins.

At MotorTronics, we offer the full repair service for the CJB that has suffered this issue. Jaguar’s method is to replace this module with a NEW one which is about £1900 and then needs programming with Jaguar Dealer Online software.

This method costs significantly more than getting your BCM repaired by us.

We are able to inspect, test and repair the board if there is any damage due to water ingress.

Repair Service:

  1. Completely disassembling the CJB and removing the water damaged connector from the board.
  2. We then inspect the board for any water damage.
  3. If the board is found to be water damaged, this is then repaired by our technicians and then bench tested.
  4. The connector is then washed in our ultra-sonic cleaner and the old corroded pins are removed.
  5. The connector is then fully inspected for any further damage.
  6. If the connector is ok, we then carefully start the re-pinning process and re-pin the connector with new pins.
  7.  The connector is then fully soldered back on the board and the CJB is then assembled back ready for shipping.

Please ensure you replace the washer pump before installing the repaired BCM.

In some cases after repair

  • The module will have to be reprogrammed, due to the data getting corrupted.
  • The module will need to be programmed with JLR SDD Software or Autologic Diagnostic / Opus Equipment.
  • If programming fails, we are able to reset the module to NEW which will require the module to be sent back for new software to be loaded.
  • We offer mobile call out programming services if you are relatively local to us for an additional fee.
  • If the board is beyond repair, we are able to extract all the data from the damaged BCM and transfer it to a replacement, which would then be fully plug and play.
